Sabrina Register talking with crowd

Comcast Newsmakers host Sabrina Register joked with Leaders and Achievers Scholarship recipients and their parents at the reception held in Olympia. For other photos of this fun event, click on the picture.

We had the honor of hosting a reception for some of the 90 Western Washington and Spokane County recipients of the Comcast Foundation’s annual Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program awards during a reception at the governor’s mansion in Olympia. For a list of all the students and more information about these high achievers and the program, click here.

You’ll see the keynote speaker was State Superintendent of Public Instruction Randy Dorn. For photos of this fun event, please see our Flickr page. For a great news account of the event, with interviews of the students, here’s an article from South Sound Talk.

As a final note, we showed the students a video from a scholarship recipient from last year. You might enjoy the video as well.

One Response to Comcast Honors 2014 Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Recipients during Reception at the Capitol Campus in Olympia

Comcast gave me an opportunity to hone my video production skills and showcase my work at this event. Putting together this movie meant working as a video producer, it meant being seen as a video professional. I think what I enjoyed the most from making this video was working with a person with years of video experience to working with someone who had no idea and learning to communicate my needs. For me, as an aspiring filmmaker, this helped me understand what it took to create a video for a company. Thanks Comcast!
